Actions taken by the Board of Directors on August 5, 1999

 
Re-elected Marsha Beasley, Allan Cors, Harry Seiben, and Bill Willoughby to two-year terms on the Board of Directors. 

Elected Allan Cors as Treasurer, Judy Legerski as Secretary, Oscar Mahlon Love as Vice Chairman, and Charlie Maddox as Chairman for a three-year term of office. 

Presented an M1 rifle to Col. Bill Deneke in tribute to his lifetime of service to junior shooting. 

Elected Jon N. Bengtson of Reno, Nevada to a one-year term on the Board of Directors. 

Elected Bruce A. Meredith to a one-year term on the Board of Directors. 

Selected Gary Anderson for a five-year term as the Director of Civilian Marksmanship. 

Selected Orest Michaels for a five-year term as Deputy Director. 

Authorized the sale of M72 National Match ammunition to purchasers of M1 Garand and other .30 cal rifles. 

Approved the expansion of the John C. Garand matches and authorized the sale of one Danish issue M1 Garand rifle per year to competitors participating in these matches. 

Authorized the CMP to enter into discussions with the NRA and the Ohio National Guard in an effort to plan a long-range renovation of the Camp Perry ranges and the range communication system. 

Established a fourth grade of M1 Garand rifle - Danish issue. 

Changed the annual purchase limit of the Service Grade rifle from one to two. 

Modified the M1 purchase plan to allow qualified purchasers to buy:

Two Service Grade rifles per calendar year. 
One Select Grade rifle per calendar year (subject to availability). 
One Collector Grade rifle per calendar year (subject to availability). 
One Danish Issue rifle per calendar year. 
One Danish Issue rifle per calendar year to participants in any CMP   sanctioned  John C Garand match..

 

Approved participation in a John C Garand Match as fulfilling the shooting requirement for
eligibility to purchase a rifle. 

Established CMP policy requiring affiliated clubs to retain rifles purchased from the CMP for a period of one year. Precision Air Rifles must be retained for a period of four years. Clubs are required to maintain records of all rifles purchased from the CMP.



Individual Sales Program

 

Caliber .30 M2 Ball. Everyone who has purchased a caliber .30 rifle from the CMP is eligible to purchase one 280 round can of .30-06 M2 Ball ammunition per each rifle purchased since October 1, 1996. Price per can is $60.00 picked up at the Port Clinton CMP warehouse or $84.00 delivered. This is a limited offer and may be discontinued at any time. 

Caliber .30 M72 National Match. Everyone who has purchased a caliber .30 rifle from the
CMP is eligible to purchase one 400 round can of .03-06 M72 National Match ammunition per each rifle purchased since October 1, 1996. Price per can is $140.00 picked up at Port Clinton CMP Warehouse or $170.87 delivered. This is a limited offer and may be discontinued at  any time.
