Hi Guys and Gals,

On July 22 I posted the following on Milsurps CSP while this one was on hiatus:

“Anybody know what this is? It's OMG complicated with drums, slides, sprockets, gears, gorgeous main casting. I figure it has to be military. Any help appreciated.”

I got a lot of good responses but we’ve been involved in the Mother Of All Moves and this is the first chance I’ve had to get back to it.

It wasn’t a tease. I don’t know what this is. It was in the effects of my best friend who passed away a few years ago when we were shooting at Camp Pendleton at the Western Games.

The size is about 20” x 16” x 10”. It weighs about 50 lbs.

I mentioned that we are moving and we can’t take this with us. I hate to sell it as scrap. I offer it to anyone willing to pay the shipping. First come first served. Figure the shipping weight at 55 lbs and I’ll do the best job I can at packing it. I added four new photos, a couple of which show the two pieces assembled.

Thanks everyone.

Al

I'm no expert, but it looks like sight base for a helocopter gun sight. Where did you find it? I have a tank sight that followed me home from a garage sale. :evil6:

Hey Al,

Looks like something Rube Goldberg would dream up. Why don't you e-mail Bill Ricca and ask him. He has probably seen more stuff like this than anyone I know. Hope you are not moving far with all that heavy stuff. ;)

If it is military, there has to be some nomenclature stamped or etched into it. A quick Google of thst same nomenclature should help.

The last time, someone thought it was part of a Norden bombsight. But here is info on the Norden and I don't see a similarity.
