Would anyone be able to provide the correct dimensions for making the
proper spanner wrench for the removal of the nut on a flush nut windage
knob? I have finally gotten an M1 rifle with a flush nut sight, it is 314XXX
serial range and using Harrison and Poyer's older books, the rifle is original and
complete (believe it or not). I have detailed stripped the rifle, with the only the rear sight remaining, for a thorough cleaning (it was FILTHY). Bbl. date
is 8-41, 2SA bolt,-3 op rod, etc., etc. Thanks in advance, George in NH

the M3 or other variations of the combination tool have two studs that are used to remove the "flush nut" I have used them for years

What part on the M1 rifle was changed at the end of 1941, so that the M3 combination tool could be used on that part ?
