Criterion moved another step closer when they issued a PO for the gas blocks to be made. According to Steve at Criterion, the button is made and they are ready to start cutting the bores. To early to predict when, but things keep moving forward.

Do you know if they will stick with the 1 in 20 twist or will they go with a 1 in 10 like the M1 rifle?

If Criterion is just starting to do the engineer work, where is "What A Country" getting those they have advertised in SGN. You don't suspect that they are being imported from the marry old land of Oz?. Even he wouldn't do that. Would he?

"What A Country" is more than likely selling Citadel brand barrels. Citadel makes (or made) barrels for M1 Garands and M1 Carbines. A firm called West Coast Barrels for a while was marketing the Citadel line for a while. I purchased two Citadels from West Coast Barrels to rebuild two Plainfield receivers I ordered from CMP. I believe Numrich (i.e. Gunparts) was also selling Citadel carbine barrels. The last three Plainfields I rebuilt had barrels purchased from Numrich, and they were identical to the barrels I received from West Coast. All the barrels are accurate and function perfectly.

I imagine that the barrels will be first class! Within the last few months I have been noticing some companies offering new carbine barrels. I was at a gun show here in Maryland and one of the dealers "James River Manufacturing" was offering carbines with new barrels.
