Have some 50 rd boxes of 1944 Lake City. Spam can says (REPACKED) 44. Is this good to shoot and what does "REPACKED" mean. The casing head stamp is LC 4 without a second digit. First post so I don't know my way around yet.

Made in 1944, some used only the one digit for some reason. The ammo is corrosive, but otherwise should be ok to shoot. May have some collector interest, but not rare or particularly valuable.
Repacked means it was taken fom the original packaging and put into new boxes. Not uncommon to see on WWII ammo.

Bill, thanks for the feed back. I didn't mention that the Lake City 44 is .30 Carbine, will it still be corosive?

All US arsenal produced .30 Carbine ammunition is non-corrosive
The reason for the one number is that they took the die from 1943 (43) and removed the three and continued to use the die. Saved time and money that way.

The "repacked" generally means it was repacked in spam cans. Spam can packing did not exist earlier in the war and a lot of ammo was repacked when that process was developed.
