To the long time shotgun collectors.......Need help determining the value of my WINCHESTER M12 WW2 TRENCH GUN...............I have also been told that the original parked guns tend to be somewhat rare????

It is ( from what I have read and have been told) an original factory parked specimen. I am thinking of either selling it outright............ or trading towards another trench gun (WINCHESTER M97 -WW1 or WW2) ..............or trading it towards a combo of trench and riot gun from the other manufacturers STEVENS, REMINGTON, SAVAGE depending on the value of those weapons and mine.

Or even some combo of weapon and accessories that I need, including some ammo boxes?

I have including some photos. Any suggestions or advice would be welcome.
thanks
Bob..............email @ THIRDHERD1965@COX.NET
ps.......Let me know if the photos are ok. I can send them individually. I am guessing the finish is approx. 95%, naturally there are some wear marks on the barrel and slide rod. The wood and buttplate are outstanding.

Lordy,I would almost kill to have that. I carried one in Viet Nam my first tour. AND that one is 1943? The year of my birth[my 1911A1 collection is all 1943]. PM me when you settle on a price,I probably can't afford it but I'd like to try. Nick

Nick, I have recvd some feedback from a few collectors. It looks like anywhere from $5000 - 6000 tops. If it would have some better finish, it would rare in the 6000 -6500 . But that is just how they see it. So, who knows for sure. It is all in the eye of the beholder and how bad someone wants one. It is not a mint piece, but I believe it is a very, very collectible item @ 90% finish and a rare piece.

Thanks Bob but that is a little too steep for my wallet. Nick

I wonder if the VC I cut down with the Government issue M-12 would have liked to know how much these things are worth today. Not a 'Gripe" just an observation. Nick

Nick....I wonder if he would have asked you, ( before you unloaded on him ), "Is it original configuration?"

Not to highjack this thread but I always liked the M-12 in the bush 'cause I didn't have to walk "point" I always walked "slack man" to cover the point man. Now my secret is out! However, I have to say Bobs' M-12 is as nice as I have seen over the years[I'm no expert I'm just going with rudimentary observation] and I sure wish I could afford it.Ah, no Nick [he said to self]you can't buy your childhood back. More's the pity, but someone is going to wind up with real a beauty! Nick

Whooee, Bob, I do understand.I don't have a mortgage or kids in the house but I just retired in Jan. and am learning[trying to learn] that I don't have the disposable income I used to have.If this had come up last year I have a pretty good idea of whose gun safe it would be in right now!Best of luck with the auction and ,I know this may sound a little morbid, but thanks for some the memories you brought back for me by showing the pics.Nick
