I stopped at the local grocery (regional chain, not just a mom-&-pop shop) this weekend for the weekly shopping &, as is my wont, I checked out the bulletin board at the front of the store.

Imagine my surprise to see a full-page ad, with colour pictures, from someone wanting to sell a Remington 1100 12ga shotgun! Since the ads are in a glass case & have to be approved by the store manager it was obvious that the store management DID approve of the ad. :banana100:

I am so glad to live in a state, and a community, where someone can advertise a firearm for sale on the store bulletin board & nobody blinks an eye at it! :eusa_dance: :1948:

Not unusual at all down here. I attend local estate auctions and firearms turn up all the time. They are pretty good about checking ID to purchase. Saw a Remington 870 Wingmaster with SC LE markings for sale on it last year at a yard sale. Local trader paper has 2-3 pages of guns for sale by private sellers. Dont ever bother looking in there anymore, ever since Prince Obama of ACORNs selection, people seem to think private sales make used guns worth more than they are new.

We have firearms at estate sales all the time here, too. And advertised in the newspaper. Two of my prized possessions were picked up at estate sales.

I was just somewhat surprised that it would be on a store bulletin board, too many corporate types are so afraid that they'll offend one or two customers that they would never, ever, allow something like that to be posted.

Never mind that by NOT displaying such ads they'll offend hundreds of us, but then if we never know the ad wasn't posted we won't know to call & complain that it was suppressed . . . . .

Bravo to store management! I called them today & told them "thanx".

We have a weekly trader paper that used to be good about ads for guns. When the paper changed ownership, they stopped placing ads for hand guns and they dont accept ads for 'assault weapons'.

Some of our local trade papers and regular papers have guns listed but as stated above, folks have such high prices on stuff now you would think its a gunshow listing.

I did manage to pick up a sweet deal today for my nephew who is in college and on a low budget. I bought it for him and told him he could pay it back "whenever",main thing is to get him out in the duck blind and in the woods. His only gun until today was a Remington 1100 20ga with a skeet barrel, not really suitable for slugs or ducks.
A guy I work with won a new 12ga 870 combo setup in a raffle two years ago at his local F&G club. Shotgun is still new in the box, never fired. I bought it from him today for $300 which I thought was a nice deal. Now the kid has something he can use for ducks or deer.
Uncle Dave is very relieved as I really did'nt want to loan him one of my Belgium A5's or my Benelli SBE. :banana100:
Now he has his own gun to scratch up.

Up this way it not uncommon to see guns on the bb at Safeway.
Also in the local news rag and in the free sales paper.
Also on the radio trade show and of coure on "Fire Arms Friday" on the radio.
