View Full Version : Remington 9 1/2 Lg Rifle Primers
I have several thousand of these and just noticed last evening that 2 out of 100 had a whitish ring around the circumference. Evenly placed as though on purpose. I never purchased magnum primers before and do not know what they look like. Are they marked with a ring? Wondering if a few magnums mixed in with the regular Lg Rifle Primers.

Sure wish you had a picture! I have never noticed any whitish rings on any Remington primer. The color of the primer mixture as you know tells you whether it's a standard Large Rifle or a Magnum primer.
Looking at both of the Large Rifle primers that are sitting on my desk, there is no whitish ring. Could be a manufacturer problem in the inspection section, if anything, contact Remington and see what they say!

No rings on the 9 1/2M primers I have.
Magnum and standard primers use the same cup. The difference is in the priming compound. You can't tell anything about any primer just by looking at it.
