The only "ammo" I can view for sale on the CMP estore is BBs! I hope my order for 2 cans of the ammo in en blocs is honored. It reads as "processing," ship date "TBD" and payment type "prepaid."

Are they permanently out, or is this like the m1903s - where they dry up and then suddenly another batch comes in?

They said they would fill the orders that have already been placed. As for new stuff, anyones guess is as good as another, but I sure hope so.

So much for selling it by the truck load as some have stated.

Yes, you are correct. Everything listed as sold out including the Aguila Carbine as well as all the .22. Biggest loss is the HXP.

A week and a half ago I took stock of my .30-06 ammo since I have a Garand coming in November. I usually shoot my M1903 and most of the ammo I reload. I had 200 rnds of de-linked HXP I got from J&G Sales last year, but stumbled across an extra 200 still in the cardboard box. Lucky me! I figured since I went through the hassle of the CMP paperwork to get the Garand I might as well take advantage of the CMP e-store and get another 400 of the HXP in e blocs. GOOG DECISION it turns out. I have heard some old & crusty types saying "better buy when you can." How true.

I picked up about 3K on clips over the last couple of years and I am still working on my stash of PS Korean before starting on the Greek. I think I will delegate the PS to my '03A3 and start shooting the Greek in my Garands.

Orest has indicated he will have more news next week. He has often removed items from the sales page until they can get a count of what is left.

Orest posted the following on the CMP Forum 23 September:

"We have posted all carbine and .22 ammo as "sold out - not accepting orders". We currenty have customer orders for thousands of cases - and we will fill all those orders as the ammo is received from the manufacturers. Because the manufacturer has notified us of longer delivery delays and also of price increases with future orders, we have decided to stop taking orders until all current orders are filled and we have inventory on hand for future orders. This may take as much as 6-12 months."
