All my previous black powder shooting involved muzzle loaders. But, when I acquired a M84 trapdoor, I was new to BP cartridge shooting. I always knew to properly clean a BP rifle or pistol after shooting. Now I've learned that BP corrodes brass too. So now have to 'properly clean' the brass also.

bring a jar with some soapy water and drop the brass in it after you fire the round, run a brush in them when you get home , let dry and deprime.
