Friend sent me this video, and seems like a shame as the 2 robbers seem to have survived, but the security guard didnt judging by total lack of movement after he goes down...

Personally if was me I think after shooting the 2, wouldnt have made my self so open by walking out like that after, least not till I was sure the 2 were down and out completely...

I agree, I wouldn't have charged out into the open either. The guard might not have either if he were in our place seeing someone else.
Adrenalin does strange things though. He was obviously trying to maintain control of the situation and the elapsed time may not have seemed so short to him.

Not a good day.

Hard to tell (I watched it 3 times) but it appears that the 2nd perp wasn't hit initially & ducked behind the wall & the cop stepped out to figure out what the 2nd guy was doing. Given the outcome maybe not the best decision but I can't fault him for it......

Long ago, I had a friend that taught self defense, And he taught that rule number one, when comfronted with a similar situation was find a good defensive position and wait for the bad guys to come to you. You have all the odds in your favor when you have your back and flanks covered.

Second DO NOT WASTE AMMO! It gives away your position and uses rounds that you may need. I get a kick out of the TV cop dramas where they act like old west gunslingers and spray the area with rounds... They walk around opening doors standing in front of them..

Always remember that there is NO SECOND PLACE IN A GUNFIGHT. And always cheat....

I read a book long ago about the death of John Wesley Hardin in a saloon in El Paso Texas. He was standing at the bar having a drink when a dude named Selman walked in and shot him in the back of the head similar to Bill Hickok.. One bystander stated that it wasn't fair that he died that way. Another stated that he didn't care how it happened, just so long as Hardin was DEAD..:1948:

It was said Hardin would fight at the drop of a hat, and drop his own hat!
