bought me a1901 LSA long lee enfield 1* this weekend.

she'll fill the gap between my IMA lee metford and my smle

there's lot to do:
damaged and bondo'd stock
missing swivels
missing volleysight pointer
wrong bolt (a smle one)
and then some

what kind of wood is this?
any source for bolts?

A worthwhile project. Doesn't look like a lot has to be done. Also nice Metford. Do I see a scarce cleaning rod in the Metford? Ray

I just sold one, 1898, VG condition, complete except for cleaning rod. Converted to charger loading in 1909 by Vickers. Was on my table for about 10 minutes! Found it at an antique store for 350 bucks couple years ago.

These days you can add a 1 between the dollar sign and the 350!

Looking at that buttstock again, I wonder if it was decorated with brass tacks? Afghanistan?
