Representative Baron Hill, 9th Congressional District, Indiana is a so called "Blue Dog Democrat". He has been back in the 9th District for most of the month and has only spoken to some very small controlled groups like a couple of Rotary clubs. He announced early last week that he was going to have public meetings with seating on a first come first seated basis.

The meetings are being held at 2 locations on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington (liberal bastion with young obamaites taking the seats), and Evansville (another liberal bastion in conservative Indiana). This is how a supposedly fiscal conservative Blue Dog Democrat holds fair and open public meetings. He won't even hold meetings in predominately Democrat Jackson County (his home) because those people actually are conservative Democrats.

This a-hole is the number 2 man in the Blue Dogs.

The bummer is how many Republicans are right there with them. I pounced on one my senators for supporting the Omnibus Land Grab uh, Bill, and he justified his completely un-Constitutional vote for by saying, "but it had some good stuff in it for Idaho". So, these bills grow to a thousand plus pages of trampling on us and our Repubs support it because it includes a taxpayer funded bribe for each.

Bob, you are oh so right about the leach people being paid off with freebies but I do think you overestimate the percentage. Those who are footing the bill for it are moving from complacent, to annoyed to just plain pissed. Add to that the fact that the government is BROKE and this will have to come to an end. All they can do is let the Fed keep increasing the money supply, devaluing the dollar until we are in a situation like Weimar Germany. With the real unemployment rate close to 20% and the government still bringing in a zillion foreign workers every year PLUS supporting job and resource stealing illegals, and something is going to crack.

Being really highly-trained and observant, I just noticed where you live. I could have thrown a rock at you a few months back when we were visiting family in Spokane for a few days. Not bad country I guess but you people would have a lot more ground if you just used lawn rollers and flattened the place out. Liked it a lot better down around Caldwell where my other cousin lives. They've got ups and downs and gulleys and rivers but they've got a lot of really nice flat spots in between that you can use :D

Unlike Democrat Baron Hill who is hiding in liberal bastions, Mike is holding three meetings this week in different cities in his district. Two are in churches and one is an auditorium and all three seat over 1000 people each. All are open to the public on a first come, first seated basis.

Now that's the difference between a conservative Republican and a so-called "Blue Dog" Democrat. We need more like Mike in Washington!

Bob
That is the same Baron Hill who used the phrase"political terrorists" to describe the protesters. He is the Blue Dogs co-chair for policy.
New left-wing slogan:
"Dissent is the highest form of tastelessness".

Hi to Bob, Tom, Pat and Clyde,

Sorta feels like home here. Good to see you are all still observing and commenting on the political situation and that the OFC is well represented on the new CSP.

None of our local Dems are holding town hall meetings; wonder why?

They seem to think they know better than us what we really need.

Not trying to hijack the thread.....

Bob, if you would just get out of that Hoosier flatland and work your way down to Floyd's Knobs in north of New Albany over towards Spring Mill you would see some not so flat spots.

As for DemocRATS hiding, ours don't. But then they have the Snoqualmie/Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia nexus voting them in every time.

My congressman is a longtime supporter of giveaway programs. No better example of the abject failure of these policies exists than his district, the Mississippi delta, the most impoverished area in the country, yet they still think more govt. money will improve thier lot. His meeting was at Jackson State University, which is 99% black and a liberal bastion.

Good grief Bob! You could have tossed a stone about the same distance and a little south and hit the Culvers. How 'bout next time you are up this way you give us a heads up. We could all get together for a little barbeque. I think Dick and Gloria can both attest to my ability to put a reasonably edible meal on the table.

We are coming back out next March but I can't get a straight answer on exactly where we are going. Our best friends' son lives in Portland with his fiancee and they are getting married but the wedding will be in Seattle, which is her home town and I'd like to go early and spend a few more days looking around the northwest but we're supposed to be giving our best friends moral support because they aren't going to know that many people connected with the wedding.

In other words, my wife will be taking a trip to the west with friends next spring and if I'm good they will let me go to but until then, it's just another thing that I really don't need to know much about. :eusa_wall:

I'll be at Floyd's Knob Saturday morning on our way to Louisville. We're going to go to Starlite and Huber Winery to get some brandy on our way through and if it's close enough to lunch we'll probably stop at the John Huber Family Restaurant. We were at Spring Mill last fall and stayed at the inn for a couple of nights so we won't go that way for a while. We are going down to French Lick to a B&B in a couple of weeks and then go over to West Baden for a night or two. :1948:

Interesting how most of the "town halls" held by Dimo's turn "rowdy" whilst most of those held by Repubs don't. :duckie:

Could it be that the populace is tired of the Dimo's trying to blow smoke up our skirts & are pushing for direct answers to direct questions? Naaahhh, it couldn't possibly be anything like that, must be those evil conservatives :evil6: trying to make a mockery of the "democratic process".
