headspacing

Need a little help here. Headspaced my 1917 with trigger assembly in and it was just a little short. Removed trigger assembly and now it it a little long. What is is the proper proceedure with a 1917? Thanks

leave the trigger in. remove the cocking assembly.{firing pin}.
cock on closing rifles need the cocking assembly removed.
