Today, I found this rear aperture in an M14 parts bin at the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot. I caught my eye because it lacks the hole. The dealer said that he originally had a pack of 20. It was one of 3 that I found. Any thoughts? BTW, I only paid $5 for it, just out of curiosity.

I don't understand. Is the size bothersome? When I previewed prior to posting, I thought they were fine given the size of the object I was trying to photograph.

I am totally surprised seeing early NM slide aperatures without the aperature hole.

Were they drilled later?

they were drilled to customize for shooter.
As I have found for my eyed the .0595 is better for me (age: 56).

Try emailing Gus Fisher, he should know for certain.

I think the photo size is fine - pictures are in focus and show great detail.
