OK, I finally got with the program and ordered my first flat top AR receiver, a Bravo Co 20" with Midwest free float handguard. I envision using it with M193 and M855 ball most of the time, maybe I'll get around to some heavy stuff too.

First, iron sights. There are SO MANY options my head spins. I'm thinking first, non folding to KISS, less to fail. Like the Daniel Defense fixed front and rear units. Not much to fail. But, only one rear aperature. The LMT Combo looks good too, has A2 setup in rear, SEAL issued so you know it is likely durable and effective. Or should I bite the bullet and get a Troy folding setup? The idea of being able to leave them mounted is appealing. Opinions? Experiences? Money is not really the issue.

Optics. I will be using the optics for "CQB" type ranges out to 400 yds or so. Don't see the possibility of farther than that. Money is an issue here, I can't afford an ACOG. I'm thinking about a red dot with an optional magnifier. Lucid looks interesting.

Maybe a fixed power like the Valdada

I am very interested in hearing opinions and experiences with the various products on the market.

I have a Lucid and I like it. Its solid with clear glass and it works well. The 2X magnifier is o.k. but I usually leave mine off. The loss of fov for the slight magnification gain isn't worth it for me.
Here is one that may fit your needs.

Have you looked at Primary Arms magnifiers?

The magnifiers are cool , but you have to make sure you have room on your rail.
