The biggest M1 event of the year and not one GCA report?

The silence is deafening.

GCA/Anniston 2009 - (Joe the Butcher) 10-12-09
All I can say is WoW what a great time. The GCA was warmly welcomed by the entire CMP staff. Great group of people. You will read all the particulars and view the photos on the CMP forums.

One bit of information you will not read about is the large lithograph hanging in a private meeting room at the new facility where the rifle sort took place. It's an arial photograph of the entire business park where the 4 main CMP South buildings are located. The caption very simply reads, "CMP 2025"

CMP has recently locked up deals which include; 175,000 bayonets,
70 million additional rounds 30-06 Ball ammo from Greece, enough M1 rifles for at least another 5 years......and additional items.

All good news for us M1 rifle enthusiasts Clemenza

Right. I saw Tony's post on Garanditis.

Any reports from CSP posters? I would think a convention of 250 Garand fanatics going through thousands of M1 rifles would at least elicit one original post. :1948:

Most probably most have stayed away :eusa_shhh:from it here so as to not have the issues  like the other forums are having. We all remember how tainted :evil6:it was here after the first trip. I for one enjoy hearing the stories.

They have so many Garands it doesn't matter if a few get choice while working there. :headbang:Rick B

Wow. Thanks for the pics.:banana100: I had the swine flu last week (and still have the dregs of it) and wanted to live vicariously through some excellent M1 pics.:1948:

Those unissued rifles are something else! A fellow collector emailed me and told me that there were "tons" of nice rifles in the batch, and that everyone would be happy with the quality of these rifles. Gents, these are the "good old days" of M1 collecting. Enjoy them.

Wayne, I'm waiting for my rifles before I say anything - LOL.

See this post about the unissued rifles over at CMP:

How long before the book?

Best wishes - AL

I am on the final lap. I have sent out chapters to various individuals to proof, and solicited a quote from a local publisher. Depending on how long it takes to do the final edit - it could be ready by early Spring. I plan on offering advance sales when I get the publisher's copy in my hand.:1948:
