I don't know about humor, but it does make a point. We treat violent sociopaths better than sickly seniors. I know that saying we're better than that and were taught better is preaching to the choir. Most on here don't consider our parents and grandparents as disposable and probably know the heartache of caring for a loved one. My grandfather had alzheimers and my mother in law had ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) and I can hold my head up and say that neither saw a day in a nursing home. I know that isn't possible for everyone to do and I know that there are good nursing homes, but some people today can't wait to dump mom or dad in a home and don't care what that home is like.
