This is my newly assembled 20" A1 retro. I used a Fulton armory A1 upper, Sarco 20" barrel, original 'Nam era buttstock and triangle handguards that I picked up at a gun show. The receiver is a modern A2 that I picked up on the cheap. Really could see much difference at all between the A1 and A2 to justify the expense. Going to do a vintage CAR next.

I see your A1 and raise you mine: USGI M16 Colt Upper, 1/12 CM P Barrel, Retro Furniture, RRA Lower, Anodized Colt Grey, RRA Internals.

Shoots like a dream though the original RRA firing group is stiff and creepy..probably like the originals.

That's real nice. All of the G.I. uppers found locally were well used. Also, they were more expensive then the FA C7 upper. Nice execution!

Actually I didn't spend ALL that much... lower was $160something from NodakSpud, upper $275, slick carrier $75, chrome bolt from Fulton $55 (not listed anymore) repro charging handle $65, repro small parts $85, LPK $50, A1 grip and stock, $75. and actually the stock isn't correct...I have a lead on a NIW early A1 stock but I have to wait after I recover from the Christmas spending to get it......
