For those who would like a tyler T grip and not pay up to 200 dollars on e pay, Tyler of oklahoma is taking orders again, New in the box 27 dollars.:banana100: http://T-grips.com/
Personally, I never liked them. Now-days a set of rubber grips will serve the same purpose without marring the grip area.
You wouldn't believe the number of "nice" S&W's I've seen that had "rub-marks" removing blueing on the grip frame because of the item you mentioned.
FWIW,
Emri
I personally like them, I have a set on my model 40 mostly because I wanted to keep it looking "period" while improving the grip. Any gun I carry is going to get "rub" on various spots anyway. The T Grips are pretty much an artifact though because as Emri says good rubber grips are available at popular prices that do the same thing.
When I bought mine I had to pay by check. They told me they no longer make a set of adapters until they have the money in hand.
If you want to see something really anachronistic, they also still make trigger shoes!!!
