Gentlemen;
I must concede my ignorance and ask this Board for information on AYR-56-AP.
Is it corrosive ?
Is it Boxer Primed?
Is it Brass Cased?
How many Grains is the Bullet?
Thank You for any information you may have.
john (USCG 1961-1967).

Two weeks ago I pulled the bullet and powder from an AYR 55 M2-AP case. I then cut the case head off, flipped it upside down on my steel vise. (I cleaned a spot down to bare metal first). I fired the cut off case and two weeks later there is still no rust on that spot where the cut off case was fired... Jim

Twinson has found out the same thing that everyone else has found out (including me). This ammo has non-corrosive primers. I did the same test basically but added a known non-corrosive as well as a known corrosive to compare. Ammo is brass cased and berdan primed. This is from observation, not someone's posting. I have tons of this stuff and it has all been sure fire. There has been a small amount that had some corrosion at the case neck area (maybe 2-3%). Other than that I have not seen any problems.
