The Complete AR-15 Assembly Guide by Kulek & McKee is a good AR book. I believe Scott Duff and Fulton Armory sell it.

Just my advice, but if I were you. I'd ship the bare lower to John Hollinger @ WhiteOak Precision for completion.. He built us one, with a RR upper, 1-7" Kreiger, 1/4 click pinned match rear sight, CMP legal match trigger, float tubed. John is considered to be the absolute best AR smith in the country. And his prices are extremely good too.

Thanks all, Great starting point. I've seen the WhiteOak name come up before.

"The Competitive AR-15" from Zedeker Press is Exactly the book you are seeking. You certainly can use the services of a good AR smith if you can afford it, but the AR is extremely easy to build yourself. The book gives solid information from real life Match rifle buliders and shooters - and is an excellent education in what really works vs. Internet rumor. Another very good book is entitled "Black Magic, the Secret to AR-15 Accuracy", as I recall. CC

+1 I built my AR lower with those instructions. You're good to go with them.

Picking up on Col Colt's post, try Glen Zediker's new book, http://zediker.com/ "The Competitive AR-15 Builder's Guide"
It's what I used to change my own barrel on my main competition rifle this year... (that was the last thing I hadn't done yet on the AR).
Great book.
