Hello, I have a Lyman Alaskan "All Weather" 7/8" dia. 2 1/2 power scope with the fine cross hairs and knurled rounded top turret caps along with rubber banded "Storm Queen" scope caps, that has been in the family for at least 50 years. It came to me about 5 years ago after my Uncle passed on, from my grandfather before that. My question is: There is no serial number stamped after " Alaskan" on the tube or anywhere else on the chassis? I examined it closely with a magnifying glass and there no sign of a number being worn or ground off. The scope is in excellent original condition and has the Redfield vertically top split sniper style rings on it. I would be grateful for any information that you folks out there can provide. Thanks... I have photos in my doc file but was not sure of how to submit them.

I know you looked very closely but some early Alaskans had the s/n's so small there were hard to tell what they where after Alaskan. FWIW post a picture of the scope please
