View Full Version : Price help needed
I am selling some ammo from the estate of a friend of ours since we were teens. She inheired from her brother, rifles and ammo, which she and husband have no interest in. We attended HER funeral last weekend, but I want to do right by her husband. They have found ammo hidden in brothers house and at his vacation home. They came up with another 7- .50 cal. ammo cans full couple weeks ago. I am trying to price the stuff and have been to several stores in the area. I have read about the ammo sortage but was I surprised. The selves are about m/t of .22 LR.
What are the going prices for the following, do you all think?
1 CCI Stinger 50 rnd.
2 CCI mini mag, 100 rd.
3 Federal lightning 50 rd.
4 What is the price difference between 12 2/34 and 3"
I have checked Cheaper then Dirt but their dirt seems really hi-priced! (plus hi shipping).
Any help on this would be greatly appreiated! Thanks, dave
Oh well, thought I'd try!
But I believe that many are like me. I stocked up on .22 ammo a few years ago and I just don't shoot it that much. Therefore, am not that knowledgeable on the prices or availability.
It's good to have a backup supply of .22 ammo, just in case.

Don't know about 1 & 2 but the last time I bought .22 ammo the Federal & Remington 500-round boxes were going for about $9. That would put the 50-round boxes at about a buck or a buck-10 (cheaper in bulk...).
12 ga 2 3/4" vs 3" seems to be a delta of about $1.50. This is standard #7 or #7 1/2 loads, 25-round boxes. Again, it's been a while, so this may not reflect the current market.
Hope this helps somewhat. :hello:
I can't answer to some of your questions but I do know that Wal-Mart has 550 .22 for $14.32 and 100 2 3/4 # 7 1/2 for $23.00 (actually 22 and change, I rounded up).

Have you thought about donating the .22 ammo to a Boy Scout, 4H, or other youth shooting program? That might be a good legacy for the passed on brother.....
It is not my ammo, so I can not 'donate' to anyone. I was asked to sell it.
You should try ammoengine.com

Sorry it looks like they don't do shotgun shells on ammoengine.com.
If you had left out the word price on #4 I could answer;
1/4 inch

The last 22 stinger I bought were in the the ball park of 6 dollars per 50 round box. About 5.50 per box for the mini mags. The price difference between the shotgun shells can be huge depending on what they are. Steel 3" duck loads can be as high as 15 bucks per box and more. While 2 3/4 inch low base are about 5.50 per box again depending on what they are. Check the shotshells at the local wally world. HTH
