A bill was just introduced in Wisconsin that would prohibit the sale of lead wheel weights.
While it is targeted at car shops, It could also prohibit the resale of lead wheel weights for bullet making.

This is another national trend started in California and is spreading to other states fast…

From what I understand wheel weights are no longer made of lead, lead poisoning, you know. Perhaps some still are. I doubt this law is aimed at reloaders. Most car/tire shops will give them to you or they used to.

You're kidding, right?

$1.85 per pound in Detroit, unsorted. Tire shop I go to has a waiting list.

There's so much metal scrapping here that people tear down telephone lines for the copper in it. On trash day, guys come by and take all the metal -- they even cut off the power cords from appliances that don't have much metal in them, like TV"s.

I haven't seen free wheel weights in 2-3 years.

Some have said that this is the first start to getting rid of everything made of lead, and it is indeed aimed at the shooting sports, this is their way of getting their feet so to speach into the door.
Vehicle repair shops can still buy lead wheel weights as they are used on steel wheels. Coated weights of lead can be used on Aluminum and other alloys, but the uncoated weights attack the aluminum. It acts as an anode due to the electrical systems use of the metal in the vehicle for a ground. They do have sacrificial anodes and electrical sacrificial systems to stop the reaction plus different metal type weights for exotic and the more common aluminum alloyed wheels. Zinc weights have been used for years and will destroy a melt of your bullet alloy if you are not careful.
Obama said he would not take away our guns, and he won't have too! He will just make it so hard and expensive to either make or purchase ammo that it will simply not be worth the effort. If you look at just the cap and trade proposal, ammo could go up 50% just on that. Add a national sales tax on top of that which could be another 10 to 15% or more. With your state and local taxes along with a natural resource and user fee, ammo could sky rocket another 100% to 200% from what it is today. Looking at the decline of the value of the dollar, and ammo could jump another 50 to 75%.
This present administration knows nothing of freedom, only control, so be prepared and tell others that these new proposals must be stopped or we will truly be subjects instead of citizens!
