I'm relatively new to AR15s. I always thought rifles were supposed to have wood on them. A while back a friend sold me a stripped S&W receiver and off I went. Tonight I was internetting around and came across ar15.com. I thought I'd sign up. I was informed that losers like me who use yahoo for their e-mail can't play with those kids! Got my feelers all hurt. Is there something inherently uncool about yahoo?

Probably involves something called..'Spam'...

My wife broke my arfcom coffee mug...I'm just now starting to talk to her again...

It's a good set of forums..and probably my most favorite...but it ain't always a 'polite' forum. Don't let your feelings get hurt if you join. However it's a very friendly forum too..and helpful. Firearms of all types are in discussian..plus hunting, political discussian, religous, automotive, local/regional forums, many active duty military and LEO...mostly all good guys..and gals. Well moderated.

I would recomend setting up another email account and joining anyhow..it's a lot more than black rifles.

Agreed. You can upon occasion find tremendous deals on pieces/parts and other stuff on the various Equipment Exchange forums and there is an easily searched reference for feedback on buyers and sellers. The mods don't hesitate to get involved in deals gone wrong. Not all the forums are wild west, the Retro AR forum is generally extremely civil and permissive of somewhat off-topic threads, long as it's old stuff. Also Midway and others occassionally offer ARFCOM-only discounts. Worth the efforting.

I believe it's about fighting spambots....I recently went back to Arfcom after a long absence and they have verification codes you have to enter to send PMs and emails now.

You can get walnut furniture in A1 style...buttstock/pistol grip/forearm...I've seen it available in plain grade walnut to semi-fancy/fancy grade walnut..
