FYI
I loaded up some 357 rounds for my Python using small rifle primers:
12 gns 2400, 143 grn SWC.
Worked like a charm. I usually use 13 gns 2400 with a regular small pistol
primer, but decided to reduce slightly for the sr primer.
When discussing this at my club, I found out that several of the guys
do the same thing and they've never had a problem either.
The primer I used was a CCI. Next time I'll try a Winchester to
see if there's any difference.
The last gun show I went to, there were no small pistol primers to be had,
but the seller did have some in small rifle.
It's nice to know you can substitute, with a little caution.
