HAve a cz24 Czech rifle, whats the better ammo to use in it?
All are boxer? the pp ammo has either SP or FMJ in 196gr, the S&B is SPCE, but looking at a round the bullet has sharp stepr where the spire point meets the full 8MM diameter. Never seen that before!
Thanks for response.
I've used PP bullets for reloading and had pretty good accuracy. I haven't bought loaded ammo in 15 years.
Prvi Partizan is excellent stuff. I wouldn't use any S&B handgun ammo, but I don't know about their rifle stuff.
i hve used both PP and S-B 8x57mm PP far and away better ammo S-B brass was substandard and had many promlems with first reload. I finally put them in the scrap buckret, I have had no problems with PP fired brass and 196 gr bullets. Also have used 8x57Mm yugo 196 gr nice shooting made by PP Hope this helps

I've shot S&B ammo in my CZ 52, and a couple of different Tokarevs with no problems. What is supposed to be wrong with it? Is the brass any good to reload?

It's not the quality of the brass that is a problem with S&B. The primer pocket is too shallow on their rifle cases and are a pain in the neck as you have to cut the pocket deeper to get primers to seat properly. The Prvi brass is excellent quality to start with and nice to reload. Prvi pistol brass is also very good and easy to reload. Of the two I would say the Prvi brass is the better of them.
I reload some S&B brass for a .303 brit. Brass doesn't hold up very well.

I have had a bit of trouble out of the S&B. I had a case head separation in a 303 and it was a new, never reloaded round. I also found out that the stuff was mildly corrosive. I was at the range and another shooter was using some S&B in a 7mm Mauser. In brand new, never before opened boxes he found a mix of 7mm Mauser and some other type of 7mm rimmed caliber.
I've shot a good bit of S&B, mostly 9mm but a lot of 7.62x25 Tokarev 7.62x39mm and .303 British as well. I should also mention that I'm not a reloader and that factors in as well.
I've never had a hiccup with any of it and their 7.62x39mm is the most accurate ammunition I've ever used in my SKSs and AK clone. If it's corrosive at all it didn't show up in any of my guns, I cleaned them as I clean for non corrosive and haven't found any rust yet. All in all I personally found it good ammo for the money but your mileage may vary and I'm one of those folks who after two bad experiences with one caliber one brand of ammo I just don't use it anymore. I had some bad experiences with quality control in Remington .22 Vipers and don't buy Rem. .22s so I know where folks are coming from if they've had some bad news S&B.
I've shot a little Privi but not a lot, my opinion of it is pretty much the same as the S&B.
Of course your mileage may vary with any of this stuff.
A few years ago, my son and I bought 3,000 rds of S&B 9MM at the Knob Creek MG shoot. The vender warned us that the stuff was pretty hot and made for sub guns. We shot all of it through the kid's UZI and had zero problems, in fact we thought it was great stuff and tried to buy more but it was all gone.
