Most everyone knows I'm been asking some questions about the Reminton and Smith Corona stocks the last few days. I've gone through some stocks I have and found that two are Smith Corona and 12 are Remington. I've taken some pictures of the things that you all pointed out as different between the two as a help to others. So what you'll see is two Remington stock on the left and two Smith Corona stocks on the right of each photo. These are only for the stocks I have on hand and I don't claim all stocks out there are marked or made just like these.

Inpector stamps on bottom of stocks, I noticed the Diamond SC stamp on these two are not the same size

Middle band spring cut out, square RA, round SC

Rear HG ring cut out. I could not really tell much of a difference here but I did notice the two SC stocks have a yellow grease pencil inspectors mark in the stock and None of the 12 Remingtons did. Also, the flat just behind the recoil lug cut out has a D stamped on the two SC stocks and none of the Remintons did. May not mean anything but interesting to me.

Noticed the cut for the bolt cut off area is different. All the Remingtons angle downward and into the reciever channel. The SC stocks are cut flat along the top egde.

Also notice all the Remington stocks have a letter stamped in the middle of the barrel channel and the two SC's do not.

As for all Reminton stocks having a flaming bomb stamp on the end of the stock. That's not true as a full half have nothing on the end and most of the others had a number stamped there.
Also, the two SC stocks have a set of numbers/letters stamped under the butt plate towards the top. None of the Remingtons I have have anything stamped there.
