My friend Bob just emailed me this info; he's been looking for number 11 percussion caps for standard nipple size:

"You won’t believe this – a $5.99 box of 100 CCI percussion caps have the following add-on fees in NJ:

1) A HAZMAT fee of $25.00
2) A $5.00 shipping fee

Total cost $35.99 for a $6.00 item

"Also in NJ there are no WalMart stores that stock #11 percussion caps – they are stock items in Pennsylvania for $6.00 off the shelf.

"Please see if you can pick a box up for me somewhere.

"This friggin’ State is a goner!"

Socialists don't need to pass laws to put us out of business; all they need to do is make things unaffordable or too much bother, until we lose interest.

The hazmat fee is added to all shipments. That's everywhere not just new jersey.

You are ordering them correct and not buying them in a store, if so do yourself a favor and buy a sleeve of 1000, the hazmat fee is the same for 1K or more and slpit them up with your friends.

When buying from a store the hazmat fee is divided up amongst the dealers entire order which makes the off-the-shelf prices so much more attractive.

On our local board we do group buys from vendors like powder valley and split the shipping and hazmat.

Makes you wonder just how many mailtrucks blew upin the past with those horrible things. OR how many cans of black powder blew up? answer, NONE I have heard of powder mills doing that, and fireworks factories doing that, BUT NEVER any in shipping. Just another way to extort money.
