Close but no cigar! Even one number off really means nothing as far as your's is concerned.

The answer to your question is "yes". The 165th Inf was the old 69th NY Infantry (Irish predominantly), which I think became the NYNG (anyone with more knowledge step right in). You should be able to Google the others and discover exactly where they were. The Army troops in China is a give-away.

The 165th stayed as part of the New York National Guard and was later assigned to the 27th Infantry Division and saw heavy fighting on Makin, Guam and Okinawa.

What is the barrel date / ID on your RIA 265070?

Don, the barrel is an AV 12-18 replacement barrel. The reason I requested the SRS check is because the rifle is in a PODD marked stock and has the "been there done that look." No hit but most of the units listed appear to have been out of the western U.S. or served in the Pacific Theater. Several people have said that many Rock Island's were sent to the west coast because of the arsenal's location.
