I hadn't shot my No4 Mk2 in a while so I took it to the range today. One thing I wanted to do , since I have hunting ammo for all my centerfire military rifles, was see how it did with that ammo. The hunting ammo in this case was 180 gr. Remington SPCLs. I killed a few deer with that in my NoI MkIII sporter and found it an excellent round.
After a fouling round using the battle sight I put 4 rounds of the Remington into 2 1/2" at 100 yards with the battle sight. The group was centered 5" above the point of aim which is ok since in the unlikely event I ever hunt with it I can't imagine shooting further than 100 yards with that rifle. A low center chest hold should do the job if shooting bambi is ever on the agenda with the No4.
I also shot some Privi Partizan. All the ammo I had shot previously was Winchester Mk VII ball ball made for the Irish or S&B 180 gr FMJ. Both of those print about 3" high at 100 yards with the battle sight and dead nutts on point of aim at 200 yards also with the battle sight. The Privi hit point of aim at 100 yards with the battle sight and about 4" low at 200 again with the battle sight. Good to know if I use this ammo in the future.
