I have heard anecdotally that the late stamped M2 flash hiders were better for shooting, but I'm not sure exactly why. The early milled ones certainly are heavier, but are there other reason why the stamped were better? Thanks.
both to the range and ,using the same rifle compare results with each.

seems to me the damn thing rattles around so much, you're better off without it except for collector value.
i'm guessing it might supress flash (or not) but it probably degrades performance.

We generally "Lost" them, because they would interfere with the accuracy, enough that you couldn't hit what you intended to, when you used them.
We saw them as unnecessary baggage.
As goo says: ". . . except for collector value."
