Hey Fellers,
Ain't it grand to have this forum.
I have recently aquired a S&W stripped lower and I want to build a rifle or carbine. I've heard that parts kits are backordered everywhere. Tried to call Model "1" sales just now but they're closed. Went to a local shop today and they had uppers and lower parts kits on the shelf but couldn't work up the gumption to sell me one. I've only just started looking. Any body got Sage Words Of Wisdom?

What's "tactical entry" mean? I want a 5.56 chamber, 1 in 9 barrel and no match grade parts. What length is your barrel, and what type buttstock?

Decide what bullet your going to shoot most before you get any rifling twist. My 1:9 doesnt like 55 grain bullets at all,8 inch groups at 100 yards.69 grain match kings go 3-4 inches in mine. The 1:9 is meant for 62 grain bullets which will be my next reload project. If I had it to do over I would go 1:8.One rifle, one guys thoughts.

Attehding gun shows I have noted the number of "accessories" for the mouse gun. They often outweigh the rifle they are fitted to.
Somewhere under all those extras there is a rifle;)

The barrel is a Chrome lined 1x9" twist 16" in length . The Model "Tactical Entry" is a complete upper assembly manufactured by Rock River Arms. I have $575 into it and will let it go for that amount plus shipping to you. John

I read somewhere that 1 in 9 is the way to go for surplus ammunition. probably the writer was referring to 62gr. stuff. So is 62 more likely to be around in future than 55? What's the government using these days? I'm thinking that when Barako brings Peace To All The Land there'll be tons of surplus laying around.
John, I'll consider your upper but I'm hoping to get into a complete kit for about that much money.

SHERLUK has complete kits. Fair prices (www.sherluk.com) Ph. 419-923-8011. I have purchased several kits from them without any problems.
I have a 1/9 RR standard Barrel that came off an off the shelf A2 before I converted my Daughters AR to a NM shooter. It has maybe 300 rounds thru it if you are interested. It has no sights.

"Surplus" ammo is good for SHTF but a waste of money for target shooting. Any good 1in7 barrel will shoot 55 thru 75 grain bullets accurately with no problem. Handloading is still the best deal on AR ammo.

Well. thanks for the input guys. I was in Jensen Arms the other day and picked up a Rock River complete upper 16" 1:9. Now I need a carry handle and lower parts kit. I see carry handles with rear sight everywhere from $28 to $140! Any advice on these parts? I'm also wondering about magazines. Seems like there are a lot of choices there too.

androck14, I just ordered a LPK from RB Precision; I've done business with them before, and they seem like good folks. They carry RRA stuff.

Thanks Liftrat,
I ordered an RRA two stage LPK last night. Now all I need is a carry handle. I have an "F" marked front sight. How do I choose from a dozen or more handles I see advertised?
