The obama administration says it's a plea for children to stay in school and the Republicans are saying it is an attempt to start a cult of obama worshipers by preying on children's young minds. I gotta go with the Republicans on this one even though, with a drop out rate of 40%, we do need to encourage children to stay in school.

The issue is not as much to do with the alleged message as it is with the proposed worksheet that was to go with it.

Letting a community organizer dominate a week or so of discussion in school to advance his agenda may not be in our best interests.

The real problem is the government being in the school business in the first place. People are objecting to having the government in the health business but for 100 years have been sending their impressionable kids to the same lemonade stand. Of course governments are going to promote the values they want and displace parents and religion.

You could not be more right! The entire Dept. of Health, Education and Welfare is completely wrong, un-Constitutional and has caused our nation huge problems, not the least of which our educational system going from the best in the world to one of the worst. There is absolutely nothing that federal bureaucrats, aided by a corrupt and inept Congress cannot totally screw up. The whole thing is FUBAR and the only kids still getting a decent education are those who work very hard at it or who are home schooled.

My wife already told my 2nd graders teacher that she will not be seeing the speech. I send my kids to school to get an education, not an indoctrination.

Well it's not about the speech itself, it's all about obama putting his face in front of the kids and "asking for their help!" The kid's don't need to see another propaganda piece on socialism, they NEED AN EDUCATION!! :protest:
