staking rear sight

The adjustable Rear Sights on two of my carbines fell off while shooting.

Should I Pin Punch the sight base to re-stake them, or the carbine receiver?

I imagine drilling and tapping for a set screw would be impractical.

I had the same problem with a carbine. I solved it by gluing it in place with epoxy. It has stayed in place and so far I have not had any further problems.
