Exhausted US Marines sprawl all over beaches waiting for the landing craft which will take them off the island following four months of fighting the Japanese.

Sharper eye than mine, I didn't see any 03's.

I blew up the picture and couldn't find any 03's either. I was surprised to see Marines with M1's on GC. I thought they had to steal M1's from the Army to get them. Back to the history books.

I would expect some would be battle field recovered
