SN and Date of Manufacture Reference

I request from those who know to suggest websites and books that list a M1 carbine serial number and correct date of manufacture for that serial number.

No definitive book or website exists.
A bunch of books try to come close but there are large errors in all of them.
Forums such as this one are your best bet.
There are experts here and on other forums who know much but will probably never publish.

As for your 4053920 Underwood, it is before the break for the sub contract receivers. The break was around 4060000,that was in Sept 1943 I believe. Your gun was made probably made in August 1943. The barrel date would be close to the manufacture date.

As far as books go, join the Carbine Club. Alot of the guys can help with figuring out what you need to know.
