I have #669,6xx, everything I have read stops production around 600,000. This receiver has no inspectors stamps or bomb on the left reveiver rail, it has a Winchester barrel and mostly Eddystone parts. I figured it was built at some armory from spare parts.
I also have Remingtons #629,1xx and #519,8xx, both of which have the same barrel date of 9-18.
Thanks

My only Remington is much lower than the cutoff, #431774.
At the conclusion of the production contract, Remington had a buttload (is that hyphenated?) of spare parts to include receivers. This is what they produced their Model 30 from, I have heard they used some M1917 parts on their rifles for the next couple of decades, lots of spare parts.
The ordnance unmarked receivers may have been contract leftovers that were sold as is and built up by someone later?!?!
Dan
They went a lot higher than the 600,000 that was reported in some books. I have a receiver serial number 670246 and have a picture of receiver 672064. Neither of those were proofed and I am certain that mine was never assembled into a rifle.
