I was wondering how often one finds an Ithaca with the "flaming bomb" inspection marks stamped discreetly on the slide and frame. Fairly common?
Thanks.

The "flaming bomb" was found up until roughly #1279673, and occassionally on later pistols according to Clawson.

Thank you. I guess my question is what constitutes "occasionally"? Rarely, frequently, just about every pistol? Just curious. Thanks.

The term "occasionally" is used because no one knows the exact number, and will never know the exact number. Clawson didn't say rarely and he didn't say frequently; just occasionally.

Got it, thanks. I'd read that in Clawson's book, just wondering if there was further information on the subject. Thanks for your time.

Mr. Clawson has used his Collector Guides to provide the latest information he has.
On markings that only show up occasionally, it would take thousands of observations to provide a guide as to the approximate frequency they show up, and it would provide little additional information if you could. Normally this type of information is given in low and/or high serial numbers that it has been observed on. If the mark shows up on the receiver, it should be on the slide as well.
