There's a 92 stock running on ebay, item#350309948804. Look close at the pics, and the fact that it is only 41" long. Yes, one could splice the missing 5in back on, but I think it's going to bring a premium from those who know no better. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350309948804 I told the seller, but he hasn't added the info to the auction.

I saw this stock and noticed the discrepancy as well. But then I looked at it and did have a stump of an end to fit into a front band. Could this be a Constabulatory stock?
I considered it because I have a bubba with a longer cut down stock that I will put on a front band and make up a constabulatory style krag that will not quite accept a bayonet. I will write it in the stock that this is a cut and made up rifle but I do like the look of a short rifle with full dress. This may be one of those. Having said that I am glad you posted the correction. Not long ago I saw an auction for Krag metal that clearly had a Mauser front band. It sold for Krag prices but was clearly a generic Mauser front band.

The majority of the short rifles were made with model 98s. However, the veterans organizations shortened a lot of rifles, and some model 92s (gasp) may have been altered too. If you can use it, go for it.
