After getting back into collecting bayonets (smle 1907 all makes ,types etc) i was just in time to put a last minute bid on ebay, for a Vickers 1907, i was told i cant because of their knife policy i didnt get the full message as i tried again to bid but didnt have enough time.
After calling ebay this morning and explained that i had bought some bayonets in the last few weeks with no probs.
It turned out the listing category mentioned knives, edged weapons are ok but knives you need to prove your ID this i would say was the message i had received when i tried to confirm my bid, i was gutted, the bayonet had a mint blade it had the wrong scabbard but went for £66 i am still in tears....

For any one in the UK make sure the category does not have KNIVES in, if it does be sure to bid early gives you a chance to confirm your age, dont make the same mistake i made.

I can sympathise. Got my Vickers bayonet some years ago . They only made 10,000. That may seem a lot, but compare that to
Wilkinson: 2,360,000
J.A. Chapman; 300,000
Sanderson & Neubold; 1,600,000
R. Mole & Sons; 60,000
R.S.A.F. Enfield; 500,000
Remington; 100,000
Now consider the ones lost in WWI:eek:

Have ONE hooked quillion , marked to the H.L.I.

As for my opinion of Epay, It's run by a collection of whining leftist liberal JACKASSES

Anyone remember when they pulled the ad for a charger with five FIRED 303 cases?

They pulled my ad for a canvas bandolier, 10 charger clips and 50 empty cases on the grounds that they could be reloaded.

Got a 'naughty boy' strike against me.

Just trying to replace the one i sold a few years ago during a clearout, i kept a few 1907 bayonets just in case, picked up an excellent remington 1907 last week (Pics on millsurps)
