I Finally Found Some JHP .40 S&W!!!

I was at Wal-Mart getting the tires rotated and, since I had some time to kill, I was walking up one aisle and down another seeing if I could walk a mile or two before the car was ready. Wonder of wonders... I just happened to work my way over to the sporting goods department. There I just happened to take a brief glance at the selection of ammunition available behind the sales counter. And like Gomer would say, "Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!" They had oodles and oodles of Federal .40 S&W 180 FMJ at $14.97/50 rd. box. They had Winchester S&W .40 180 FMJ in the value packs for $30.00/ 100 rds. And...(drum roll please) they had the Remington S&W 180 JHP in 100 rd. value packs for $34.95/box:banana100:. I have been looking high and low for some good JHP ammunition. What I could find in local shops was about $20/25 rd. box:icon_rolleyes:. The only 50 rds. box I found was Remington 155 gr. JHP at $45.99/box:eek:. I didn't even know Remington put their 180 gr. JHP up in value packs! If Wal-Mart starts carrying the Remington value packs on a regular basis, it will be worth the little bit extra just to get the JHP. God bless you all. I was at our local Wal-Mart today and purchased five 100 rd value pack boxes of Winchester 9mm Ball ammo. They are sporadically re-stocked with ammo but it lasts only a short while after they receive it. About two months ago they had Federal 9mm Ball and the clerk told me they had never previously stocked any Federal ammo and he thought Wal-Mart was likely purchasing whatever was available to them. Our Wal-Mart has a six box limit in an effort to attempt some fairness while the ammo shortage continues.

40 is usually in stock in my area, both white box and hornady personal defense stuff,

45 and 9 are almost always out,

got lucky and found some 9 last week, but I only bought 3 100rnd boxes, ($20.97ea) sold one (at cost) to a friend who needed some,
