View Full Version : Tonight, you have a choice:
You can watch 60 minutes - guaranteed to give you nightmares,
Or, you can watch the Womens' final on ESPN2.
Some choice huh !

Saw several seconds of 60 Minutes while flipping channels. Went back downstairs to clean the Garands.

Your forgot Sunday Night Football. And, to keep the wife happy (she's a tennis nut), we switched back and forth between the women's final and the game. And frankly, the game isn't anything to brag about. Both Chicago and Green Bay have been playing equally inept tonight.

I found and watched "Of Mice and Men" on OVTV. It's a 1992 remake with Gary Sinise and John Malkovich. Not bad at all. Much better than I expected. It's been a looooong time since I've read the book and watched the original (Lon Chaney jr. & Burgess Meredith) but I believe this remake was true to both. Recommended if you have a chance to watch, or rent:

Speaking of Gary Sinise, you may notice he wears a circular lapel pin. Even with HDTV, it's hard to identify, but it looks like the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Can anyone confirm or deny that?
I don't think he is a vet. He was born in 1955 making him a bit young for Vietnam. He did receive the Presedential Citizen's Medal.

On December 10, 2008, was awarded the United States of America Presidential Citizens Medal (which was established on November 13, 1969 to recognize U.S. citizens who have performed exemplary deeds of service for the nation. The medal is bestowed by the President and may be conferred posthumously. The Presidential Citizens Medal is one of the highest honors the President can confer upon a civilian, second only to the Presidential Medal of Freedom.) for his work with the USO and Operation Iraqi Children.

Purple Heart or not, he's still one of the few media people we can respect.
