SFC (then SSG) Monti was killed while attempting to recover a wounded soldier during a firefight in Afghanistan. The presentation is scheduled for 17 September.

I am at a loss for words; he had to know that he would not survive his third attempt to recover his wounded subordinate.

Sgt Monti is a true hero. He was from Massachusetts, so some on this forum bunch ALL from there as Massholes, because it is a notorious Democrat state. This brave soul proves a lot of folks wrong !!!
