i came across 3 boxes of 6.5mm . i have a 1896 swede mauser is this usable for this rifle the box is marked 6.5 mm sk ptr m/94 2nd line prj m/41 3rd line pricksktte and a code #07087009 07_02 will be very gratefull any info. you ca give me

Please clarify your question. Are you asking if the cartridges you have are 6.5x55 rounds and thus suitable for your '96? (There are many 6.5 cartridges similar in appearance to the 6.5x55.) Or, is there some defect or condition in the ammo that makes you think they are unsafe? If you can post pictures, that may help.

They are Swed 6.5 rounds but may be really old, if that 07_02 indicates the date. They evidently were made for the Mod. 94 carbine or perhaps that is the model number of the cartridges, sutable for rifle or carbine.

The ammo is some of the best military ball ammo to be found for your Model '96 Swede Mauser. I believe the M/41 indicates the year of the cartridge's adoption in that configuration (with a Lapua 144gr FMJBT bullet, instead of the previously issued RN bullet). Nice find.

not only is that stuff safeto shoot, it is someof the best milsurp ammo in 6.5x55 you will ever find. they use that stuff formatch ammo, I am given to understand ..
