View Full Version : Numrich 1903 22lr Conversion Kit Question
I rember reading that the 22 conversion kits that Numrich Arms produced used an existing comercial magazine. Does anyone know what make and model magazine was used?

They used the USGI H&R M65 mag. I think. I have seen used with low number springfields and are safe to shoot .22

...a short , blued mag from some series of commercial H&R .22 that was based off the WW2 H&R model 65. I think they were 5- rounders. The 10-round Model 65 mags work fine , however , and as I have two kits and three 65s , I just use the 65 mags myself.

Thanks for the quick replys.

That would be the 165 or the 150 series H&R's. There also was a 700 and 800 series though one or both were 22magnums.

The H&R magazine that Numrich used was slightly modified by whoever created their conversion kit for them. It was not a stock magazine; it was ground on two surfaces. I had a complete Numrich kit, new in the box, but I sold it ten years ago. Kept back one of the two magazines, though, just in case I ever needed one. I never did. Anyone need it?
If you still have it I would be interested. Contact me at reklotz@pa.net Thanks!

My kits used standard , un-ground mags. However , both the kits M2 bolts have a touch of brass brazing to the front tip of the "spine" that runs along the bottom center of the bolt. This allows it to stick further down into the mag to strip a round. Were the ground mags done to fit closer to the bolt? Did your bolt have the brazing done?
