Every forum should have this kind of thread so I guess I will start it. Show us your favorite .22 firearm, new or old. My favorites haven't changed much since the days of the original CSP.

One of my more interesting 22's. It's pretty accurate for stamped iron sights, and alot of fun - as long as you remember to cock it before each shot!

My CMP 40X .22 was rebarreled in .17 caliber and chambered to shoot Mach II. The stock is a Remington 700 in composite. Scope is a Leupold 12X tactical.
If the wind will leave me alone, 300 yard prairie dogs are history. Thing about it is I can watch the whole thing through the scope.
I went this way because I am shooting free .17 Mach II ammo but I'm not sorry. It's a great shooter!

I had one of those when I was 12. I'm had the black plastic fold down handle. It's a good thing that I did not have that exteneded mag.! It would have doubled my ammo consumption!!! I think mine had the same scope? Did they come from Mossberg with the scope? Mine was very accurate on vermon chipmonks.

Heres a pic of my H&R M12. I'll have to get a pic of my Anschutz 1413 later. And after seeing my M12 you need a better pic of that too. I cut 3 1/2" off the stock. The length of pull is now 12". It seemed to make the gun more balaced for off hand shooting.

My current favorite, my Ray Morgan rifle gone over by Kenyon, Klienendorst and Sitman. She is a total hammer. Now, I just need to learn to hold it still 160 times a day. :icon_rolleyes:

TooMuch Coffee---that is a Mossberg scope on that 152, they did not come with the rifle, had a peep sight. The mount is still there. Plastic fold down was later model.

As a young teenager I knew nothing of cleaning other than a wipedown of oil before putting it away. That rifle just kept functioning box after box of .22LR. I might have actually removed the bolt once for cleaning before handing it down to a nephew. That was one well working .22 rifle. Your picture brought back many fond memories of a boy and his .22 rifle--THANKS!

My favorite .22 growing up was the Nylon Remington's. I had others but those Remington's were indestructible. Unless of course you wrapped it around a tree or left it leaning on the side of your Dad's pickup.

Winchester 52-E w/ Lyman 20X LWBR scope that original owner had mounted on it in 1973 when rifle was purchased new. I refuse to separate the rifle from the scope. I have more poweful and more modern glass, but feel the scope and rifle belong together.

Was wondering what your crown is cut like, is it flat or recessed?

Those 52's can really shoot! Find the ammo that it likes and they can shot amazing groups. We have a 100 yd. bench rest league and some basically stock 52's do really well. I shot an old workhorse 52C one year and took second place. If the bores are tight at the muzzle they will shoot real well it seems. 52's will shoot groups like yours at 100 yds. on a good calm day with the right ammo. Wind is the big factor with rimfire at 100 yds.

You have a very nice rifle. I competed in a junior club in the early '70s with a 52 just like yours. That's one to hang on to!

Don't have a photo of my favorite right now, it's a Remington Nylon 66 Apache Black. Was my grandfather's and was given to me as my first rifle at age 8....dang that was awhile ago. It's going to one of my kids someday, hopefully a long way down the road LOL

Anyhow I suppose these would be my second favorites. Both Winchesters a 52D and 52B along with a fecker and range gear.

52D open sight 10 shot group at 25yd, federal bulk box lr... wind was too heavy that day to try farther.

I have a blast shooting our .22 leagues in the summer. We shoot a bench rest, prone and our special "Fclass" type leagues. It is all shot at 100 yds. I can still shoot the prone, but each year it's getting a little harder and the sighters a little fuzzier! No reloading, little cleaning and all fun.:icon_lol: I have 3 Win's, B, C, & D, and would not sell one of them!

An Oldie but Goodie..haven't shot it 'near enough, but it is capable of much better groups than I can hold.

My friend lucked into an E that was a dead ringer for a D; except for the E in the serial #. It came from the estate of a doctor that had bought the gun new. It was one of the tranitional guns; where they used an E stamped receiver, but ALL the other parts were D. A fairly rare gun

My friend gave $500.00 for it 8 years ago. He sold it a year later for $1000.00, and thought he had "cleaned-old-boy's-clock" in the deal. :icon_lol:

Whenever I mention that gun now...he looks ill, and turns green! :eusa_wall:
