how do i do the heat treating, i see some say it needs to be brought up to 1500 degrees for a very short time , another form says 800 degrees , which is the correct way to do it

If you spot heat treat you can use a map gas torch and just heat treat the rails /ejector and the fire control holes.. heat up red hot and quench in water or oil the problem with heat treating the entire home built receiver is the warping and scale.. problems... the factory uses a molten Salt bath and the receivers are in a fixture.. hard to get at home.. some use an inert gas kiln oven.. again hard to do at home...
