Default Las Vegas what a great concept

Truly awe inspiring. Just think not a goverment bail out to be seen. A complete success based on people reaching into their own pockets. I'm sure that the history books will all contain a chapter on Las Vegas.

You are forgetting Hoover Dam, built with taxpayers dollars, without which Las Vegas wouldn't exist.

Those tax dollars were used to make people work for the money which in turn was spent in the private sector, thus stimulating the economy. Since it was built it has been generating power at a profit, created Lake Mead which also generates local revenues, boosted LV into what it is now, ($ker-ching$$$) and the dam istelf is a tourist attraction (which generates revenues in the thousands per month on rental cars alone) The project is a booming success which recouped spent tax dollar spending in short order.

Quite unlike today's dumbo-eared chimp in charge who shovels wasteful money out the door while telling lies with a crocodile smile that all the problems will go away.

Yo, Marine, without the dam, Las Vegas WOULD exist. It would just be much, much, much smaller and we'd have never heard of it.

LV was already there, and LA would have had a difficult time expanding without the power source of Hoover (Boulder) Dam. The power generated by the dam was instrumental to Southern California's expanded population.

Yes, California would have had a difficult time attracting all the Welfare recipients (42% of the welfare recipients in the USA live in California), we have more than our fair share. Most of them live in the inner cities of LA, San Francisco, Sacramento, and other various cities. They are a big part of the reason California shows as a Democrap stronghold, and why California has been bankrupt for many years.

    SORRY about the comment, NOT!

That time may come again.Do a search on "Las Vegas water crisis".Many places in that part of the country were built on the assumption they could get an unending water supply in the desert from someplace else. Now the someplace else is starting to dry up.The water level in Lake Mead is dropping about 1% a year. Before long it will be below the intakes piping water to Vegas and other places in Nevada and California.

Las Vegas, where you can visit in a $30,000 car and come home in a $80,000 bus
